Women worldwide are who are dissatisfied with their short and brittle eyelashes. Their condition may be due to illness, overuse of cosmetics or simply genetics. Regardless of their reasons, there is a mountain of products located on store shelves and online that promise to cure them of their misfortune. Unfortunately, due to the abundance of choice, it can be difficult to discern which products are teh real deal and which conditioners and stimulator make claims on which they simply can’t deliver.
Before the distinction can be made which eyelash growth products really work, it helps to understand the three stages of the eyelash growth cycle. The fist stage is the Anagen Growth Phase. This is the cycle where the hair is actively growing and can last as long as seven weeks. The next stage is the Catagen Growth Cycle which is also characterized as the lag phase due to the fact that hair growth actually stops and the follicle begins to shrink. This stage can last up to three weeks. The final stage is the Telogen Growth Stage. This is the last stage prior to the eyelash beginning to fall out. Fortunately all of your lash hairs are at different stages so while some are falling out others are reaching full growth.
As I mentioned above, there has been a significant number of eyelash growth stimulators and conditioners brought to market in recent years. These products are formulated with essential proteins and nutrients that they can refortify any missing agents within the lash itself. This is supposed to promote new lash growth as well as strengthening the individual hairs, making them less likely to break under stress and environmental toxins.
These products come with their own applicator brush and are applied twice a day for the first while, ultimately being reduced to just one application daily. Results are usually first witnessed after two to six weeks of use. They are safe to use as they are made with all natural ingredients. Some users do advise of some minor eye irritation. The biggest drawback to these products is that they are insanely expensive.
As technology continues to advance, there will no doubt be further developments eyelash growth products and improvements in their effectiveness. Hopefully with those advancements the prices on the products will come down so that they may be more accessible to a larger portion of the population. Perhaps at that point the long and luxurious lashes that are desired by so many will finally be attainable by anyone even if you are were not lucky enough to be born with them.
